Stop Selling Features, Sell Outcomes

Why I rewrote our pitch to focus on business outcomes instead of feature lists.

Features hide the value

When I sold features, prospects compared us line by line. When I sold outcomes, they compared us to the cost of inaction.

Rewrite the first 30 seconds

My opener is now a business result plus a timeline: "We help founders lift qualified demos by 25% in 45 days." It stops the feature tug-of-war.

Replace demos with proofs

Instead of a full demo, I show a 2-slide before/after backed by one customer quote. Proof beats product tours every time.

Pricing anchored to ROI

I anchor pricing to the outcome: cost per incremental ARR won. It frames the conversation around returns, not licenses.

Train the team on outcomes

Every salesperson must deliver three customer outcome stories cold. We practice weekly until it is muscle memory.
